With the upcoming race series nearing, and the condition of a few tracks in need of some graft, the WDMBA are organising a few dig/maintenance days.

The tracks and dates are as follows:

  • Rheola - 30th January
  • Gethin - 27th February

Obviously, the success of a series is dependant on its venues so we would appreciate your help on these dig days.. it would be nice to see some new faces coming along lend a hand to the usual hard working dig crew!  Wink

Post here if you can make it along to help.

Thanks,

Mark.

ok. thanks for your replies guys.. we usually meet up at about 10ish when digging at rheola and start digging soon after we know how many are turning up. thats usually about 8 people. Angry we hope for more on the next dig days to allow us to make more progress on building new features into the tracks. its amazing how much of a difference a good turn out makes to what we get done in a day of digging...

big_plums, with regards to what you need to bring, plenty of food/drink, waterproofs if its raining and any digging tools or hand tools that you can beg/steal /borrow. mattocks, spades, rakes etc all come in handy... a wheelbarrow would be a bonus too!

it depends on what were gonna be doing really buddy.. the FC are quite specific about what grade of timber we use on their land and how its put together. what kind of timber do you deal with?

Most of us work in the week. JT digs midweek on his own sometimes, personally I prefer a good team just for moral! If JT does dig midweek any where soon, I will ask him to update this thread.

just to let everyone know that we will be having another dig day at rheola tomorrow morning.. we will be meeting at the gates at about 9 to start digging soon after... we need to meet a few targets which the FC has set us which will, in return, mean that we get a mini digger in there to do some serious improvements to the track.

after last weeks disappointing turn out of digging crew we hope to see a few more helping hands this week.... people are eager enough to ride at rheola on most weekends and some criticise the condition of the track, but when it comes to putting in some hard work to maintain the track, people aren't so eager to lend a helping hand!

we only had 4 of us turn up last week but the difference a few hours work made to the run-in to the off camber section was amazing!
