Tom Phillips aka Yidwann - Co-Owner/Editor/Billpayer/Tealady
How the hell did I end up here... writing this out? Well, I think, it goes a little something like this. I first started helping out Ron and Dave in early 2003. Its funny how things turn out, I came across Southerndownhill whilst looking for like minded riders in the area as I had just moved from my native Wales, now all this time later I end up owning that very site. I first got into downhill in 1998 when a certain Gareth Hopkins stole my Kona Lavadome one afternoon. It returned with Riser bars, some flat pedals, fat tyres and a chain device. That weekend I was racing the Dragon at Cwmcarn... nice easy start, I rocked up, armed with just a giro XC helmet, some Xeno Hardnox and I was away, and totally hooked. I remember being a bit Starstruck at that race, the uplift queue was huge and I was dragged into the back of a van with Scott Beaumont, Gareth and Mad Matt Farmer, I was only 15 and reading MBUK at the time. Since then there have been a few breaks and more DNF's than I would like to remember, I'm still hooked today. As for the name? Well thats a long old story involving another one of my hobbies... a good pint of Stella.

Rob Lewis aka well... Rob - Co-Owner/Filthy Tax Dodger
Rob is another one of Southerndownhill's longest members, tax dodger by day, tax dodger by night. When Rob moved to Winchester for University and Ron had decided to call it time with SDH, it seemed like the perfect solution for us to keep on flying the flag. So we took it on fifty fifty, and thats where we still are today. Rob is good at breaking bikes mainly Morewood's and himself. Not only does he cost us, the british taxpayer a fortune being a student, he trumped that sucess with his ability to cane a whole tank of Gas and Air when he broke his femur down the local trails. Still...... he does make a mean toastie.

Tristan Veneer aka Veero - Cheif Banstick Wielder
Tristan joined the team in 2005, and his ban count is probably higher than anyone else's, if anyone has seen the "Easter Bunny Hates you" video will have an idea of how he operates. He has a love for all things Schwinn and Lawwill, his next bike will be a Rotec. The rest of the time he will be found fettling his 205 which is his other big passion. His claims to fame? Well he has met Alan Titchmarsh and does work next to the Middleburn factory, so if he offers you cheap goods you know whats going on. He also seems to be found in the back of vans with Steve Parr quite a bit.

Alastair Mackinlay aka Al - The Tech Guru
Al, is the main man when it comes to all our techy stuff. Now I work in IT and am a bit of a techy, but Al surpasses my skills by a thousand and without him this site wouldn't be what it is today. Al has a proper engineers logical working mind and can figure nearly anything out whether it be IT or biking related. Saying that he does need to ride more and he needs to stop trying to bodge his old Boxxers and get some new ones [all in good time! - Al]. Has an obscene passion for the Santa Cruz Bullit, oh yes, he proper has the horn for the new one. Jungle quite often get messages left on their answer phone in the early hours of the morning with just heavy breathing [This is untrue. Dickon, its not me! - Al]. Did I mention he needs to ride more and get fit? And maybe drink less real ale.

Dave Lane aka Fastlane Photography - Cheif Pap
I first met Dave in a back of a van at Fort William, hmmm ok that sounds dodgy from the off, but we were introduced, and it turned out he was also from Winchester, but it took an event 650 miles away to find that out. He has been working with us ever since, producing what I think and many others do, some of the finest mountain bike photography out there, the majority of gourmet pictures you see on this site are daves work. He has been riding since he can remember, flat land tricks specialist from his bmx days and I would kill for his manualing skills. All round nice guy often found in bushes in his pit shirt at all the top races.

"I'm 21 from Eastergate, West Sussex. I've been helping SDH for over a year and have been a member for 5 years. Look out for me at the Dragons, NPS and other events throughout the year. Come over and have a chat at any event."
Aaron Bartlett aka Mono - Moderator
Hey guys, I'm Mono, I ride DH, some trails on my BMX and race as much as I can. I ride for fearingout.co.uk and the Outpost Cycle Company. Riding is my life! Some may say that's sad, but it's very true! Haha!
