UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup Round 4 - Fort William - Qualifying |
|
The rain held out for the DH qualifying this afternoon. Taking photos was a little harder with the clouds rolling over Fort William every other minute.
Sabrina was first down from the women’s and stayed on top with the quickest time down at 5.29.44
Emmeline Ragot squeezed in to second place just in front of Tracey Mosely but was a massive 7.60 seconds behind Sabrina. Steve Peat was first down for the men’s and set what we thought would be a good time unfortunately got smashed straight away by his Santa Cruz team mate Greg Minnar putting Steve in to fifth by the end. Maybe Peat was holding back from qualifying, he has a good lead and if he pulls through in the race he is still going to be fine in the rankings without the qualifying points.
Gee came up with the best run today scoring that 1st place in qualifying gaining those valuable extra points for the series. Mick Hannah had a storming run coming in third place, you would never guess he had been away from DH for a while from this season's performance! This guy is definitely capable of more!

Sam Hill in his interesting new kit was out of the top 5, surprising? He just hasn’t been on form so far this season.
