Saturday is the day of qualification for Sunday's finals. No more sectioning, just full runs keeping it pinned in practice to make sure you are in with a shout of making it through to tomorrow. The rain has stayed away, the dust is kicking up all over the place and the Brit dominance continues. Dan Atherton qualified first in the 4X last night. If my prediction is right, the BMX'ers will be ousted by the downhill contingent on this one. Back in DH a lot of people realised today just how much is packed into this course in a full run, rocks all over the place beating bodies for a lung busting two and half minutes.  Matt Simmonds - Flying on his new Italian race machine So, to DH qualifying. They say that the young guns are ruling the scene these days. Have you told that to a certain Mr Peat? He Smoked everyone this afternoon to complete the course in 2:31:39 and has one and a half seconds to spare over Vaquez Lopez who recorded the second fastest run. Peat was the first down the course today and his time remained for the entire of the session, a good days work. Dan Atherton was faster than Gee and has been looking quick all weekend, hopefully he will find a little more tomorrow.
 Steve Peat - Faster than you and everybody else With just only 10 seconds seperating Sam Hill in 6th and someone else in 80th place, so many people failed to score a time quick enough to race in the final tomorrow. We have seen over the years the top riders getting closer to each other, but this was tight as you like! Brendan Fairclough did manage to put in a run, his only one all day today, and qualified. Josh Bryceland got through only 6 seconds behind Steve Peat. Along with Ben Reid, Lee Bertram, Will Longden, Sam Dale and another host of riders on that time. Marc Beaumont and Tom Braithwaite had a bit of a nervous time waiting at the end after having crashes in their runs, but they both pinned it and managed to make the grade. Fabien Barel a big casualty of the day coming in 115th  Gee Atherton - Team Animal Commencal - The Slower of the two Athertons today  Fabien Barel - Faster than me and you, but not as fast as Steve Peat  Nathan Rennie - Dropping into the finish In the women's, Sabrinna Jonnier was fastest down with a time of 2:55.23 and fellow French rider Emmeline Bagot was behind with Tracy Mosley running nearly 4 seconds behind Jonnier. It seems to be that the rider to be watching out for is sister of Mick Hannah, Tracey, who was only 12 seconds off with a big stack over the bars! Tomorrow should be an interesting watch for sure. Emily Horridge was the only female to style up the drop into the finish, but had a bit of a moment further up the course, however she has been been riding well all weekend, so hopefully could push for a good finish.

All Results can now be found on the UCI website www.uci.ch . The finals are tommorow, hopefully the sun will keep its head out and about. We need it too, seems to be a real lack of those other Sunn's people keep talking about.
